I must be honest; it will take some time to perfect all four strategies, because some of us might prefer one of the strategies over the other three. As a leader, coalition building is the strategy that managers should use to understand and comprehend as an effective leader. Building a coalition is the most challenging, and the skill leaders must utilize to motivate others to get the job done. Teamwork has to be the battle cry while building a coalition ready for the fight. Building a coalition in the military is not as difficult as building a coalition in the civilian sector. The military has a defined rank structure, with regulations to cover and support the chain of command and all members responsible for upholding standards. In the military, most units have a command team, and that is a commander, and the senior enlisted advisor (Department of the Army, 2020). The two form a coalition together to receive the mission, accomplish the mission and get the job done. The two senior leaders are the heartbeat and soul of the unit. The two are similar to a mother and father in a family dynamic. On paper, this is a perfect coalition of leaders working as a team, to get the job done. As covered in (Bolman & Deal, 2017), "as a manager, you need friends and allies to get things done. To sew up their support, you need to build coalitions" (p.209). In t
