How do you respond to a classmate about In my most recent experience, I was part of a workgroup in the education field. The group called itself a team, but as Thompson (2018) points out, many groups are really "pseudo-teams" because they do not fully share goals or responsibilities. That was true in my case. We completed projects, but most of the time people worked separately instead of collaborating as a real team. Some of my best team experiences included times when everyone worked together and came up with creative ideas, when we accomplished a shared goal and felt proud of it, and when the team was supportive and made me feel valued. On the other hand, I have also had some negative experiences, like poor communication that caused confusion, unequal workloads that made the work feel unfair, and conflict being ignored instead of solved. Research shows that these challenges are common and can hurt team success if not addressed (Salas, Reyes, & McDaniel, 2018). For this course, my professional intentions are to learn how to set clear team goals, build better conflict resolution skills, and improve my ability to motivate others. My academic intentions include understanding team behavior better, applying what I learn to real situations, and improving my research and thinking skills.
