how do you write a peer review response to this discussion
My highest score was for skill, at 19. Which I anticipated, given how I operate in all operationally defined areas of my life. As a behavioral health and clinician leader, I often find myself being ability-focused and see a need as both a BIPOC individual and a woman to demonstrate my superior skills. I am shocked that my lowest area is ability. I often believe in a certain baseline ability level and the importance ofgrowing and demonstrating ability.
In interpreting the results, I compared what was meant by each category to how I currently practice as a leader. I then juxtaposed this to how I observe and interpret others within my practice and field to operate as leaders. I considered the behaviors, goals, and intentions that would come with varying levels of each emphasis. It seems pretty plausible that I scored the same (15) for relationship and process. I practice from a highly relational framework and feel that process and processing are vital skills in leadership and general high performance in daily tasks and goal achievement.
When I interview potential management and leadership staff, I often ask about leadership styles and find myself relating to those with transformational leadership styles. Our text, Northouse (2022) notes that the results of inventories such as the Conceptualizing Leadership Questionnaire help identify and explore leadership styles such as transformational leadership and authentic leadership. Additionally, assessment that identify strengths and areas of growth can support I/O psychology professionals in enhancing leadership and learning to implement theory that focuses on aligning values and vision to create actionable steps towards achieving desired outcomes.
