How does customer value link to the core concept of needs?

I do understand this question, however wanted a deeper analysis to it. This question is in relation to marketing.

here are some of my ideas

• businesses need to understand customer value to create value to their products (a fundamental aspect of marketing)
• customers must place value on a product/ service to feel the need to purchase it
• if a customer doesn't want it, there is no value on said product/ service
