Question:
ideal response on the given paragraph?
Hmm this is a pretty fun topic to contemplate. I think it is a matter of perspective. When I think of all three individually it seems like it is very easy to be overlooked by Christians for each. I can see how creation is overlooked because of basically what we discussed in the posts last week. For some people HOW everything was created could be irrelevant so many may overlook it. Restoration is tricky because this is really the heart of Christianity. It can be really easy to overlook for people who are "baby Christians" as it is a complicated theology to truly understand. However, I think sin is the lens that gets overlooked the most. I think with just how much grace God has given us, it becomes easy to sin. Not only that, but the world is becoming more entrenched in sin and brushing it off. Premarital and casual sex is no longer looked at as a taboo by most of the Western world. This culture is effecting Christians as well and is just one of the many ways sin is overlooked by Christians. Goheen and Bartholomew give an example about sin being like a disease that warps a child into two different developments (p. 68). I think this is a prime example of what happens with Christians and sin. I think prayer and reading the Bible would be the best way for Christians to keep on three lenses in focus. the Bible is the story of the three lenses so reading it will ensure you keep it in mind and prayer allows God to communicate with you, giving a balanced worldview.
