How large does a project need to be before a formal scheduling process is necessary? Have you experienced the difference between systematic and random error -- where errors are related to misalignment of some aspect of the task and tools or process versus just the random variance that comes from not being able to do things identically each time (if so, how did that come about? -- if not how might you expect to encounter this?)
