Question:
How might the American system of government be structured differently if it were being designed today rather than in the late 1700s?
Think of at least one way you think the Constitution would be different if it were being written now instead of 200 years ago. The change(s) you discuss can be related to any policy area or aspect of the current Constitution but must be realistic (meaning they would be supported by a majority of the population being asked to approve the document). What ideas would be incorporated that were not discussed at the Constitutional Convention? Are there ideas in the current document you think would be left out by modern authors? Would the proposed branches of government remain the same, or would modern authors alter the format of government institutions?
