You will be entering into negotiations with the Millennial Generation Labor Union", a union of young workers who are between the ages of 21 and 28. They all work at your company and the labor contract is up for renegotiation. You are the manager of Sacramento Paper Products and want a labor negotiation that is fair for you and them. You want to enter the negotiations prepared so you are going to prepare a Bargaining Book". A bargaining book is literally a play-book of how you plan on dealing with the expected issue that may come up. In a bargaining book you have your predetermined stance on multiple topics. When the other side brings up a topic you can 'open your book' and be ready to negotiate.
