Whatimportantthings would you want to know about the other store managers before you communicate with them about the campaign?
I would like to know how long they have been with the store/company, that way you know who is more knowledgeable. Also, we could find out if they have done collaboration before and what roledid, they play.
What would be your first 2-3 stepsin collaborating and building an effective relationship with the other 2 storemanagers?
I would start by going to each of the other store managers stores and get a feel for what their style is like.To get to know them, I would want to get them out of the store atmosphere and learn a little about them personally by asking them for coffee, we could share ideas but still learn about each other.
What would you do to begin building credibility andestablishingtrust with the other store managers?
I would be available forany questions or concerns that they may have. I would make sure that I chose thepart of the project that I am good at so thatI woulddefinitely bean effective part of the collaboration..

Before I communicate with the other store managers, I would like to know how long they have been with the company and how long they have been Store Manager at their store. The answers to these questions will help in building a relationship. If, for example, they have much more experience than I do, I would want to let them know I look forward to them sharing their knowledge with me and that I have some ideas for them to look at from the perspective of a newer manager.Same would apply with how long they have been a Store Manager in this area.
I have always found that a casual setting is best for collaborating.Since we are all in different stores, it might be nice to suggest a small restaurant or coffee shop that would be convienent for all of us to meet. This is a great time to brainstorm and get to know each other. For this first meeting you could keep it more casual and then pick a day and time to meet weekly to go over ideas and suggestions.I think that if you have a casual setting to start getting to know each other, ideas will flow more freely.Once you gain a comfort level with others, it is easier to share ideas, even when you are unsure of them.
I think it would be during this time that you would talk about your past experiences and your hopes for the future. This would include both business and personal.I have found, in my career, that if you are willing to share a little personal information with your team mates, they will do the same.Once you have established this connection, you will develop a relationship and gain trust. You do not have to open up and tell your whole history, but when you let go a little and share small details, your team will feel that you have trust in them and ultimately will learn to trust you.Be very careful not to damage that trust, because once trust is broken it is very hard to get back.If you work hard to do what you say, when you say it, it will go far to build trust. If something happens to keep you from doing what you say, make sure you are honest and explain what happened.Forgiveness isn't hard, when there is trust.
