Ethical Behavior is an essential and imperative part of business. It consist of the following a mix of company rules, moral principles, and values of the company. It encompasses a broad range of things from lying to harassment. Unethical behavior is equivalent to catching the corona virus - no one wants it or wants to deal with it but now they are infected. Unethical behavior can affect a company in very unfavorable ways such as; (1) company reputation. Once a reputation is ruined it can be recovered but sometimes it takes time. (2) It can affect the company's bottom line. What happens is people do not trust the company branding anymore or what they stood for due to their reputation. (3) The company can run into legal issues due to unethical behavior rather it be debts or legal battles. Therefore, unethical behavior can be detrimental to a company. In a recent article, three Southern Indiana Judges were charged with misconduct for being involved in a physical altercation in May 2019. They had been drinking and were intoxicated which altered their mental status. This caused them to do and say things otherwise they would not do. This situation caused their reputation to be tarnished along with losing their credibility to be a judge let along making right decisions without prejudices. Can you imagine? This is just one situation of many.
