Research and 2 pg. report on Erik Erikson and use his research to discuss child development. The age range to focus on will be 6-8 years old (middle childhood), and decide how Erik Erikson's ideas apply. While reviewing his research look for the key aspects of what children should be learning during this age range, and what is needed to ensure they achieve it. Be sure to consider effective strategies for developing a child's needs in this age range and what you can do to ensure they reach the typical goals set out for children of that age. Consider the benefits in individuals learning the specific goals, as well as what could happen If they do not. What challenges will one face if they do not acquire the specific skills during their age range, and is it possible to catch up later?

Erik Erikson: Developed the stage theory of psycho-social development, exploring events throughout one's lifetime, from childhood, to adulthood, to old age. Studied with Anna Freud, and is also considered an 'ego' psychologist.
