In your own words, condense and restate the most important information in the video that you've chosen. Be sure to identify the author's conclusions as well. Why are we doing this? Because to do this assignment well, you will have to carefully watch and understand the video you've chosen to summarize. This skill will be important later when you have to read reference materials and take notes on them for your final paper. You will have to paraphrase many of your sources in your research papers, and this assignment offers a chance to practice and learn these techniques. How can I do well? As always, I want you to do well. I will be looking at your papers at two levels: basic summarization skills (described above) and basic writing skills, which include skills at both the micro and macro levels. For the two initial summaries, I will be grading your summary skills in particular. Did you seem like you knew what a summary is and did you have control of the summary skills even if it wasn't entirely on point grammatically?
