Hypothesis Tests, or Statistical Hypothesis Testing,is where you compare data sets or samples so we can infer something about the conclusion.My business situation hypothesis test would look something like a product we use everyday and the company claims that that product weights 25 pounds.We might want to check this claim and determine a hypothesis on whether the weight is in deed 25 pounds.We would then want to check this claim by collecting more of the same product maybe around 5 of them and weigh them.Our numbers would look like:

Null hypothesis: H0: Average weight 25 pounds.

Alternative hypothesis: Ha: Average weight not 25 pounds.

H0: = 25 versus Ha: 25

Then you would be able to solve this claim and identify if the hypothesis was correct.
