I am doing an exercise that asks us to derivate the function without using the quotient rule : The function is f(x)= x^2 + 2x / x and the answer is f(x)'= 1 . I don't understand in which case we simplify the fraction and in which case we put the denominator at the same level as the nominator (example here: x^-1). Thank you
