I am driven to be a hard worker by the example both of my parents left for my siblings and myself. My mother was a migrant worker who worked the fields when she was forced to end formal education her 8th grade year and who raised 4 of my siblings in the fields depending on the season. My mother never complained and when she would see "Stokley's" vegetable cans she would take pride knowing she may have picked that particular vegetable that made it to the shelf. She never complained and knew she was making a difference no matter how small. My father was the same. A happy butcher in a locally owned grocery store often caught bagging groceries when needed or rolling carts back inside in his spare time. He took pride in making the gorcery story the best he could by completing small tasks with great joy. I try to carry on a piece of my parents' work effort in each task I complete because I know it all adds up to measurable success.
