Question: I am having a hard time understanding how to solve for N in excel. I was under the assumption that the formula is =sum(a3:a372) however

I am having a hard time understanding how to solve for N in excel. I was under the assumption that the formula is =sum(a3:a372) however once I put that in and submitted my assignment it was wrong. Am I misunderstanding this? Isnt N supposed to be the total population? If I utilize =count the data seems really low to me.
