Job Description: Coordinate the packaging activities on current projects (returnable packaging with suppliers, internal packaging between Alstom Warehouse and Alstom manufacturing plant). Coordinate the supply and implementation of the packaging solutions. Lead Project of Warehouse improvement activities(Layout, Method Times, Stock Locations etc.) Understand the progression of the packaging topics on new Upcoming Project. Make sure all the resources are under control (drawings, supplier, sub-assemblies, hardware, people) for the prototypes, pre-serial and serial implementation of packaging. Write packing/unpacking/stacking instructions for suppliers and Alstom logistic workers. The Logistics engineering teams missions are: Define flow and packaging options Develop cost effective packaging solutions Provide packaging and transport solutions that meet the logistics plan required for execution. Collaborate with multiple functions throughout the manufacturing process to include, test, production, logistics, warehouse and project management to meet the quality cost and delivery requirements. Communicate and establish relationships with suppliers, manufacturing and customer for cost effective solutions to satisfy the requirements for packing and shipping. Provide ergonomically designed solutions to meet the requirements of the end user of production. Provide packaging design estimates; coordinate the logistics requirements and shipping plan to meet the needs of the project deliverables. Support activities to drive cost out of packaging through design by understanding the product value stream and logistics requirements thru the life-cycle of the product. Validate packaging designs to assure logistics needs are met and maintained through the project life cycle.
