my hypothesis is in this study is that there is no difference in reducing PTSD symptom severity between those receiving EMDR than those who receive CBT.

The alternative hypothesis proposed is that a reduction in PTSD symptoms will be more significant for women who receive EMDR than those who receive CBT.

for the pre test post test i got The m= 1.62, St. deviation= 5.72. The t-value is .691, degrees of freedom is 5, and the considerable value is .520, which is greater than .05 (see table 1 paired t-test for the EMDR pre-test and post-test). The mean= 2.43, St. deviation= 2.3. The t-value is 1.075, degrees of freedom are. -3, and the significant value is .361.

the Levene's F-test f(.197)= 16, p= .669. The independent t-test was associated with a statistically significant effect f(.197) = -.283, df= 8p = .784. doe this mean there is no significant difference in reducing PTSD symptom severity between the treatment groups; therefore, we fail to reject the null hypothesis?
