I am using statistics software for a t-stat project. I have the following hypothesis:
H0: = 16.7 HA: > 16.7
My sample of 40 has a mean of 20.95 and software is calculating Standard Error of1.1766696, with t t-stat of3.6118891. I also need to illustrate how t-stat was calculated; however, when I plug these numbers into the t-stat equation: (20.95-16.7)/(1.177/40), I get a t-stat of 22.84. What am I missing?
