Try to give look for a quote or reference to prove your point What was the rule/principle BEFORE the new law was passed or new rule decided in the case? What is the source of law for the old rule? the new rule? (constitutionalstatute, common law)? Could the problem have been solved better by passing a statute, by creating an exception to an existing rule, by better interpretation, or by decision on appeal? What seems to have prompted the legal change? Were there social or technological changes involved? What problem was raised by the old law ("the mischief" to be addressed)? State what the NEW rule/principle is... How does the new rule address the problem/change you identified above? What will ppl have to do differently? Who is affected? Who benefits? What does it ask society to do? (note that the judge in your case may have said something about this!)
