I believe the most valuable resources for any team are the team members. Each individual has their own specials set of skills, knowledge base, and experience levels. While personnel is the most important recourse, right behind them are tangible resources like equipment, work space, materials, and of course the budget for the project. Determining how the team resources should be shared and used properly is a decision that both the team members and project manager should share. The project manager should ensure that the resources are shared effectively within the team. Encountering changes to resource availability can significantly affect the team. If the project were to lose some funding or reduction of materials and time, the team members may become more stressed and their work ethic will decline. If one team member is not performing at the same caliber as the others, the overall goal will not be accomplished. On the other hand, if there more resources become available, the team will work more efficiently effectively. In order to keep a team moving forward, I think the most important management and planning skills include time management, direct and effective communication, and problem-solving. A project manager will have to wear many hats to effectively move to team toward the end goal. I would rate my proficiency skills between 7/8 out of 10. I still have a hard time with addressing conflict within the team if/when it arises. I'm hoping to become more proficient in that department.
