I chose the topic "using technology in education" and compared the information I found through a search engine $($Google$)$ and a subject directory $($like ipl.org$).$ When I used Google to search for "technology in education," I found various results, including articles, blog posts, research papers, and news about recent advancements in educational technology. While the information was current and varied, not all sources were reliable, and I had to filter out some less relevant or more commercial content. On the other hand, when I used the subject directory $($ipl$.$org$)$ to search within the education category, I found more reliable and well$-$organized resources. These included links to academic papers, government websites, and educational institutions. However, the information was more limited in scope and focused mainly on formal, research$-$based content. In comparing the two, I found that Google provided a broader range of information, which was useful for exploring the topic more widely. Although I had to spend more time sorting through the results to find credible sources, it offered a more comprehensive view of technology in education. The subject directory helped access reliable, scholarly content, but it didn$$t provide as much variety or up$-$to$-$date information. Overall, the search engine was the better tool for this topic because it gave me more current and practical resources, even though it required more filtering.
