Current events: Current event articles must be typed (curves can be hand drawn). If you hand draw curves on paper, you can submit a clear picture from your phone of the curve. Each student will submit current events through October 30\". An unlimited number of current events can be turned in. Current events will nding an article from a current periodical, a printout from the web, or a description of a newscast story, with a one page (typed) explanation of the economic issues involved in the story. Original diagrams with appropriate curves should be used when possible. Articles will be graded 'om 0 to 5 points with most articles receiving a 3 or 4. Each student may receive up to 30 points towards their nal grade 'om current events. Part of the scoring is for drawing an original economic curve. The curve can be hand drawn. Student who fail to turn in current events will receive a zero for 30% of their grade and will find it very hard to pass the course. Grading: 1 pt A brief description of the article 2 pt A more thorough description using economic vocabulary 3 pt A description using an original economic curve 4 pt A description using an original economic curve with movement showing a third variable. 5 pt As above, but with all curves being correct
