I got an ODE question. Please check it out.
There is a 1000 gallon tank initially filled with 800 gallons water with 6 lbs of sugar dissolved in
it. A pipe fills water into the tank at a rate of 10 gal/hr, and the water entering the tank has a sugar
concentration of 0.1 lbs/gal. Suppose a well mixed solution leaves the tank at a rate of 5 gal/hr.
(a) Derive the differential equation that describes the sugar amount in the tank.
I know that the amount of sugar should be calculated as (sugar_in - sugar_out)/total amount of mixed solution which is (800+5t)
I am confused at how to calculated sugar_out in ODE form
(b) Solve the above equation.
(c) How much sugar is left in the tank when it overflows?
