I have tried many styles, and the only consistent thing I have seen is pack mentality. When one worker gets away or is even perceived to get away something, the pack will try to get away with it or test boundaries. The biggest change I found was the pack buying in on what the goal or vision is They can regulate some of these issues if most of the pack wants what you want. If they don't want to work, that is not something that is an easy fix. A trick I would try would be to set standards, apply equal treatment, find their motivators, and share your goals for them.
