6-10+ reference citations for sources you consulted as part of your research, in MLA format and in alphabetical order.
An annotation of roughly 150 words for each reference that provides brief summary, evaluation, and reflection.
The summary should capture the overall essence or main argument (if there is one) of the source and should use some active verbs (for examples, "This article describes..." or "This article explores..." or "This study sheds light on..." instead of "This article is about...")
The evaluation should comment on the relevance and credibility of the source in the context of your particular inquiry. Not every source you find on the internet will be relevant or credible for your inquiry and audience. The evaluation section should briefly explain why you think this particular source is relevant and credible for your particular inquiry.
The reflection should indicate why/how this source connects to your inquiry.
How To Do This
The first task is continuing the research you began in Part I. You may have some relevant sources that you need to read more carefully. Or, you may have only begun to define your focused inquiry, and you may need to begin searching for relevant information. Consider asking a librarian for help if you get stuck, and remember to stay flexible, and to stick with it through the inevitable challenges of research.
Once you've found some sources, spend some time reading and thinking about them. See if there are information gaps that you need to fill. Consider writing the annotation for each source (summary, evaluation, reflection) first. Consider reviewing the lectures that cover summary and source evaluation.
Then, create an MLA citation for each source and finalize the formatting of your AB. Consider reviewing the formatting video (from Scribbr).
Some other things to remember:
Single-space the bibliography, but include an extra line space between the citation and the annotation, and between the annotation and the next citation.
Only the first line of a reference citation should be flush left. All other lines should be indented. (This is called a "hanging indent" in case you want to look up how to do it.
Your sources should appear in alphabetical order, not numerical order.
Specifications
Your annotated bibliography (AB) needs a title that communicates your focused inquiry and indicates that this is an annotated bibliography. Something like "An Annotated Bibliography on Aging and Musical Background Perception" would be appropriate.
Your AB needs at least 6 sources.
The sources need to be listed in alphabetical order.
