Part I

Design requirements:

$1.$ Design a complete cable tray system with all necessary components to meet all

the design requirements and to accommodate all the power and communication

cables as in the following.

a$.12$ pair of CAT $6$ cables $($communication cables$).$

b$.6$ pair of $12$ strain fiber cables $($communication cables$).$

c$.5$ pair of Coax cables $($communication cables$).$

d$.4$ #$12$ copper, THHN$,600$V$,$ Power cables.

$2.$ Look for Belden wiring company for communication cables and look for

Southwire cable company for power cable.

$3.$ Make all necessary engineering assumptions on the design.

$4.$ Cable tray shall be a minimum of $200-0$ in total length from point A to point B

with no more than $(2)90$ degree turns.

$5.$ Cable tray and system shall be located above typical office ceiling space with

vertical drop at each termination point A and B$.$

$6.$ Determine the type and materials of tray to be utilized, with tray cover or not.

$7.$ Determine the width and depth of tray $($cross section area$)$ and support spacing.

$8.$ Provide calculations to show that your cable tray can support the given number

and type of cables $($weight and volume$).$

$9.$ Power and Communication cables need to be separated within the cable tray per

electrical code.

$10.40\%$ fill requirement on Cable Tray per electrical code.

$11.$ Provide diagram to show the configuration of your cable tray on a $2$D drawing

$($can be hand sketch or by AutoCAD or Pro E or solid work$).$ Showing elevation

and top view of your cable tray system.

$12.$ Provide a material cost analysis of your cable tray system $($The cost of the

cables and the cable tray system$).$
