Prepare a Monthly Income Statement for an Organization

Purpose: The purpose of this project for students is to understand and be able to plan and create an income statement for an athletic program or an organization over a period of monthly. This ability is crucial for anyone to be successful in the athletic field no matter as a coach, athletic director or run your own business.

Please interview a real organization. The organization or program must be:

A youth or amateur league or team

A fitness club

Show the following:

Income statement in monthly bases

Identify income or revenue items such as member fee, donation, sales, etc.

Separate fix costs and variable costs in the income statement

Identify at least 6 fix costs and 8 variable costs

The federal income tax for a business is 15%. If you lost money in operation, you dont need to pay income tax. If it is a non-profit organization, it does not need to pay federal income tax.

List the second income statement to show you cut 15% cost either fix or variable or both (be realistic)

Show your monthly net income before and after cuts

show how much you saved after 15% cost cut and discuss your results to the contact person.
