I learned new things today, payroll is an important part of any business if a company's payroll department fails to pay their employees accurately, they can take legal action against the company also If the employees get overpaid, they can be charged with potential embezzlement. It's important to stay updated with all of the payroll's new laws it's their obligation, and not knowing will not be an excuse. Internal reports are used by managers, to inform decision-makers and are a large company expense. External reports are from the IRS, state government, and labor unions. The Equal Pay Act to effect in 1963, the Civil Rights Act prohibited workplace discrimination started 1964, and surprisingly the America with Disability Act started in 1990. As I'm reading Chapter 1 payroll laws, I notice that children under 14 are not allowed to work nonagricultural jobs. I had to read that twice because at first, I thought it said they are not allowed to work agricultural jobs, but kids are small, and it will be easier for them to work in that field however my concern is the chemicals farmers use on the agriculture, wouldn't that be harmful to children in the long run because it says non-hazardous.
