I need a substantive comment on this post:
Discovering my learning style was a light bulb moment for me and like finding the lost piece to a puzzle Ive been trying to complete, I almost cried reading the section on how to help myself. Now learning what it is to be a global learner it made sense as to why I try to accommodate different learners when hosting virtual training to my internal customers along with why I have difficulty retaining information no matter how many times I can review it. This will help me create thorough trainings to provide for understanding and incorporating sequential learning styles to stay organized as a manager and in life. What I learned about my emotional intelligence is that I must feel emotion to give emotion to balance the thinking I have going on which causes some to question if feelings exist and if feelings can be returned from me. As a manager I feel I would have to find a way to show and make someone feel my sincerity if the topic were something I could not relate to. This helps me to get out of my head and patiently wait for a response which could guide me towards not coming off as emotionally detached and how to provide the appropriate emotional response. I remember taking assessments like this at my current place of employment when I was a new employee, which was eleven years ago and I was in my mid-twenties. Reflecting on my younger self I did not understand what the results were telling me about myself however I learned through my own life experiences throughout the years. Although my personality reflects the opposite of who I am perceived to be, I also have the willingness to work at relationships with good communication, stability and to withstand and overcome adverse conditions. Looking at my response to this discussion post I could see myself finding the confidence in myself to become the manager I always wish I had and reflect on the responses to the tests to remind myself of how to get on track or find alternative solutions to problems in life and in the workplace.
