Executive summary

The Canadian government is one of numerous international organizations addressing the serious concerns for E-Waste. Innovative ways for mitigating E-waste will provide the Canadian government with enormous benefits. Generations millennials and Z seem to be the most qualified applicants for this position as they are the future generation. A survey with a few questions will be issued to college and university students between the millennial and GenZ age ranges in order to determine their thoughts on various aspects of E-waste. Surveys were chosen as the data collecting strategy because they are cost-effective; the cost per respondent for online and mobile surveys is low. Even when respondents are compensated, the per-response cost of an online survey is typically far cheaper than that of a paper survey. The survey questions will focus on respondents' willingness to participate in a contest related to E-waste handling measures, the type of incentive that would motivate them to take part, the specifics of a particular incentive, and the level of education of those who are eager to participate. The collected data will assist us in determining the proportion of respondents who are willing to contribute to this cause, their level of education, and the most desired kind of incentives among respondents. In addition, we will assess whether there is a statistically significant relationship between the age of the students and their willingness to contribute, as well as between the students' area of study and their willingness to contribute. In turn, this will enable the Canadian government to organize and determine how to cope with E-Waste.

Online Survey: $30,000 plus HST

Qualitative focus groups: $50,000

This is why, along with many other pertinent reasons, it is necessary to comply with e-waste system

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

To comprehend how Generation Z and Millennials handle electronic waste and suggest the best ways to gather waste in a sustainable manner.

QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

1. To determine what proportion of the target group wants to collect e-waste at their convenience rather than a drop-off location for recycling e-waste.

2. To determine which recycling choices Gen Z and Millennials prefer and which are less significant.

3. To determine the percentage of the target group, who would shell out money for an E-waste home collection service.

4. To gauge how respondents felt about the necessity of collecting e-waste.

Research Design & Methodology

Toronto,Ontario, Canada was selected for this research primarily because of the significance of the ongoing economic activity, the speed at which urbanization is occurring, the country's population of around 1 million people, as well as the growing weight of municipal waste management. The survey's objective is to find out how well-informed and aware CanadianGen Z and Millennials are about e-waste & related concerns. Some respondents for such a current poll are chosen at random from throughout Canada, much like in an e-waste study that is done in Canada. Data Collection

From September 2022through October 2022, interviews were used to gather the majority of the survey's core quantitative data. Close-ended questionsare used on the questionnaires, which were divided into four sectionsand summarized as follows:

• Through online mediums
• Email campaigns
• Organizing conferences at school, college and university levels etc.

Rationale

• The idea of e-waste can only prevail if the people are properly educated about it. Once the mental grooming has been attained, better future prospects are expected.
