Hi, guys, I am yeicy and in this video, I will be showing you how to make Colombian bunuelos now these potatoes are made in Colombian with a special cheese called costeno cheese only be found in Colombian so in this recipe, we'll be using queso fresco, and feta cheese.
So first, we mix all of our ingredients starting with the feta cheese with the queso fresco, cornstarch, tapioca starch, or cassava starch sugar.
We mix all the ingredients,
Then we make a small well to add our eggs.
We mix eggs with the dry ingredients then we add a little bit of salt
Then we add butter
The last ingredient is a baking powder we mix well and we need our dough until we get a very smooth consistency
Once our dough is nice and smooth we are ready to make our Banuelos
To make bunuelos you take a piece of dough and just make a small ball
You can also make them long like this just like my grandmothers used to make them
Once you have all your bunuelos we are ready to fry them
The perfect temperature of your oil should be 325 degrees
We add a few bunuelos at a time in that way they will have enough room to float in the oil
We fry them for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown
Once they are ready we take them out of the oil and put them on a plate with paper towels
