(20 points) Your essay must start with a complicated trig expression and end with a fully-simplified answer. (40 points) You must use a minimum of FIVE different trig identities. Remember that our identities include the following: Quotient, Reciprocal, Pythagorean, Cofunction, Even/Odd, Sum Difference, and Double-Angle. Different versions of each identity count towards your total of five (for example, one version of the Pythagorean Identity uses sine and cosine, while another version uses tangent and secant. If you used both of those, that counts as two). There are many other trig identities, and you may look them up if you wish, but be sure to explain them thoroughly if they're not on this list. (30) You must explain how you used your trig identities in the simplification process. This part will require algebra/equations, of course, but it must ALSO include complete sentences at every step. Think paragraphs instead of homework problems. (10 points) Your project must be formatted as a contest-entry essay. This is not a homework problem or an exam.
