- With Industry Five Forces, be able to describe why a force is high, medium, and low.
- Know how to conduct an internal analysis: functional analysis; resource analysis; value chain analysis; VRIO analysis; develop list of SWs. Interpret information from a case, complete frameworks, and summarize findings.
- Identify the tools to use, and use the correct tools, to answer the question, does/how does this company deliver sustainable competitive advantage?
- Describe the different kind of internal resources of a company. Be able to identify them, analyze them, and apply in VRIO chart: tangible, intangible, managerial, and organizational resources.
- Be able to develop a strategic triangle from case information, accurately applying case information into the chart and then analyzing and interpreting the results.
- Describe and define the difference between business strategy and corporate strategy.
- Be able to identify alternative different business and corporate strategies. Know the pros and cons of using them. Select appropriate strategies and apply within a case scenario.
