I need help with this assignment below:

Attached is a sample (example) of a APA Formatted Summary for a Moderator Model. Please read it, ask questions, and model your summary after it.

Sample Summary: APA Summary for Moderation via SPSS v3.pdfDownload APA Summary for Moderation via SPSS v3.pdf

Do not include my footnotes in your summaries.

SPSS Data file for summary: Stress_SocSup_ Depress-3.savDownload Stress_SocSup_ Depress-3.sav

Please attempt to reproduce all of the results. If you cannot, Ask Questions

Note to self: What does it mean when students don't ask questions? Possible answers: [a] they fully understand that material and have no questions, or [b] they haven't read the assigned materials, so they don't know what they don't now)

Use the SPSS data for the sample summary to practice running the Moderator Analysis. And study my sample summary to help you learn how to interpret, present, and summarize the results in correct APA style.

ASK QUESTIONS!

When you are writing up the results for the assignment problem, you should model your summary after my sample summary: Word for word, Table by Table. The only difference will be that you will have different statistics (numbers) and different variables The bottom line is that if you completely understand my sample summary (including all of the statistics presented) and if you can reproduce the results in SPSS, then you are ready to take on the assignment. If you do not understand my sample summary, and/or, you can not reproduce my results, then you would not be able to successfully complete the application assignment. and you need to ask questions. AFTER YOU'VE RUN THE ANALYSIS AND CAREFULLY READ THE SAMPLE SUMMARY, PLEASE POST A REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE INDICATING THAT YOU UNDERSTAND ALL ASPECTS OF THE ANALYSIS AND SUMMARY. Here are the Ho's and Ha's: Moderator Model Ho's and Ha's Ho1: Depression is unrelated to Life Stress (LS) and Social Support Ho2: The impact of LS on Depression is not moderated by Social Support (SS) Ha1: Depression is related to Life Stress (LS) and Social Support (SS). Ha2: The impact of LS on Depression is moderated by SS.

Read my sample summary and try to reproduce the results using the SPSS data files provided in this forum. Watch Matt Jones' videos in the Week 3: Content by Week, Learning Resources, Required Media page. For each of these materials, take notes, identify what you do and do not understand, and ask (post) questions in this discussion forum or during my Wednesday night Zoom lecture/meeting. When students do not ask questions,

I have to assume that they understand the material.

Research Problem: Religiosity as a Coping Mechanism

Religiosity has been identified as a crucial coping mechanism, particularly in dealing with stressors related to health, bereavement, and existential concerns. Pargament (1997) categorized religious coping into positive (e.g., seeking spiritual support, religious reframing) and negative (e.g., feeling abandoned by God, spiritual discontent) strategies. Positive religious coping is associated with better psychological adjustment, lower stress levels, and improved health outcomes (Ano & Vasconcelles, 2005). Research indicates that religiosity can enhance resilience against stress. For instance, a study by Koenig et al. (2012) found that individuals with high religious commitment reported lower levels of anxiety during stressful life events. Similarly, Smith et al. (2017) showed that prayer and meditation, as forms of religious coping, reduce physiological markers of stress such as cortisol levels.

Additionally, religious communities provide social support, which acts as a buffer against stress (Ellison & Levin, 1998). Individuals engaged in religious activities often experience a sense of belonging and purpose, which contributes to overall stress reduction (George et al., 2002).

Your task is to determine if religiosity moderates the relationship between work stress and depression.

SAMPLE: The sample consisted of 18 male and 18 female hospital workers. The mean age of the sample was 40.9 years with a standard deviation of 9.65 years and a range of 25 to 59 years.

METHOD: Each participant completed a survey questionnaire that contained standard demographic questions, the Beck Depression Inventory-II (Beck et al., 1996), the Perceived Stress Scale (Cohen et al., 1983), and the Duke University Religion Index (Koenig, 1997).

Using the attached SPSS data file, conduct a multiple regression analysis (MRA) to examine the direct and interactive (moderating) effects of stress (Stress) and religiosity (Relig) on depression (Depress). Independent Variables (IVs) in the MRA: Stress, Relig, and C_Int (the centered interaction). Dependent Variable (DV): Depress.

Summarize the results for the MRA using correct APA style. Be sure to include the appropriate tables and graphs. (You must model your summary after my sample summary for moderation. As you'll see, my sample summary shows you what statistics, tables, and figures to present and summarize in your papers and how to present them in APA style format.) ________________________________________ Assignment Requirements 1. Describe the sample, the goals of the study, and the variables employed in the study.

2. Describe the analysis strategy - How will you analyze the data?

3. State the null and alternative hypotheses.

4. Report the means and standard deviations. Report and interpret the intercorrelations among the IV (Stress), MV (Relig), and DV (Depress). See Table 1 in my sample summary.

5. Conduct the multiple regression analysis in which Depress is the DV (outcome), and Stress, Relig, and their centered interaction (C_Int) are the IVs (predictors). o Note: To reduce workload, I created the centered interaction variable. It is named C_Int in the attached SPSS data file.

6. Present and summarize the results for the Multiple Regression Analysis, including: * R-square, * F-test results, * Regression coefficients, * Their t-tests, * p-values, * sr (effect size) for both IVs (Stress, Relig) and the centered interaction (C_Int). * (See Table 1 in my sample summary.)

7. Conduct, present, and summarize the results for the simple slopes analyses for each of the three levels of religiosity (Rel_Lev). * Note: To reduce workload, I created a trichotomized religiosity variable. In the attached SPSS data file, the variable Rel_Lev has three levels representing: * Low religiosity (coded 1), * Moderate religiosity (coded 2), * High religiosity (coded 3).

These groups represent the lower third, middle third, and upper third of cases on the religiosity scale.

Using the split file procedure in SPSS, you must conduct three simple regression analyses where: DV: Depress IV (predictor): Stress

8. Create the appropriate table of results for the multiple regression analysis. Refer to and explain this table in your summary. (See Table 2 in my sample summary.)

9. Create the appropriate table for the simple slopes analyses. (See Table 3 in my sample summary.)

10. Create a simple slopes plot showing the regression of Depress scores on Stress for each level of Rel_Lev. Refer to and explain this figure in your summary. (See Figure 1 in my sample summary.)

11. Submit the summary as an MS Word file.

12. Submit the SPSS output as a separate file. This allows me to see the analysis you conducted. If you do not submit the SPSS output file, I won't be able to grade your assignment.

Important Note:

This analysis and summary must be your own original work. You may not share your work with classmates. I created the practice data and sample summary as an in-class problem, and I encourage you to work together on the practice problembut not on the graded assignment.
