Topic of Conversation: Exploratory Mission For this discussion board, you will write about a past, current, or soon-upcoming mission which explores some aspect of our Solar System AND write about what type of mission you would propose and where/what you would have it study/explore. First, investigate a few planetary exploration missions (link below) and then tell us which of these missions interests you most and that you feel are most productive. (This is a discussion about scientific merit, not budgetary considerations.) You must discuss at least 2 details that influenced your choice. Use the links given below to begin your investigation, then find at least two more sources on the mission you choose to learn more about it. Next, you will tell us what type of planetary exploration mission you would propose if given the chance and why. Where would you want to send a mission? What types of things would you most like to learn about that object (planet/moon/asteroid/comet/dwarf planet)? Again, you must include at least 2 details that lead you to propose the mission. Find at least 2 sources to help you shape your \"proposal\". [Note that this proposal has the advantage of not needing actual budget consideration. This is more of an initial, \"wish list\" draft of a proposal.] It does not need to be written in any specific format, but must be clear and written so as to be easy to logically follow. Most sections have a link with 'Every Missionto ______ Ever"\" - this is a good place to look over all of the past, current, and eminent missions from all space agencies, not just NASA and covers all of the different types of missions (fly-by, orbital, stationary lander, and rovers).
