I need help with writing a good introduction and thesis for an essay that requires me to write an essay analyzing causes and effects. You will select your own topic for the essay; you should pick an issue that involves causal analysis. You will also need to select two articles on your chosen topic, one that supports your argument and one that presents a counterargument. My professor wants me to change around what I originally wrote for my introduction and thesis. Below is what he said when leaving a comment on my rough draft

Title: provide a title that is interesting and indicates the causal argument you are going to make in the essay

Intro: decent start, but this is very formulaic; avoid the phrases "the articles" and just describe the issue in a more expressive voice, esp. in the thesis (see below)

Thesis: needs to offer a clearer statement of the links between causes and effects in your subject; end the intro paragraph with your thesis, explicitly connecting climate change to different effects

The thesis statement in your introduction should provide a one-sentence statement of the causal analysis to follow.

This was my topic: Analyzing the causes and effects of climate change I wrote the introduction about it being expressed that some believe it is natural, while others believe it is caused by human activity such as industrialization and deforestation. Additionally, a wide range of consequences of climate change will be examined, including socioeconomic and environmental ones. Two publications will be cited in order to give a fair and balanced viewpoint: one will support the claim that human activity is the primary cause of climate change, while the other will present a counterargument that places an emphasis on natural factors.
