Objective: To demonstrate ability to draw and explain BPMN diagrams Assignment Description: The second modelling assignment involves you finding an existing BPMN example of moderate complexity, and (a) explain what is happening step by step, and (b) replicate it in Lucidchart. Guidelines for the model should be: 1. It needs at least 2 pools, and at least 4 swim lanes (could be 3+1, or 2+2 or more). 2. There should be some communication among the pools. 3. There need to be several activities and gateways among the lanes. 4. The example cannot be taken from any of the articles on our examples in Lecture notes, or from the book. Otherwise, there are lots of examples to choose from. 5. There is a separate discussion listed in Blackboard where you claim your example. Simple give your example a descriptive title, detail your source, and explain in two sentences or less what it does. The first person to claim an example as shown by blackboard post-date gets to use it. So, it's important for you to at least look at other examples. You can use another student's source, but not the same example. My experience has been that BPMN modeling is something you have "to do" to get better at. This exercise will familiarize you with actually drawing and understanding a complete model. Details: 1. The first part should be a detailed description of the model. Name the participants, and explain what is happening, step-by-step. 2. Indicate what triggers n (Starts) the process, explain input and outputs. 3. Identify the source of your example. 4. The second part is for you to draw the model using Lucidchart. Hint: To improve the readability of your model, increase weight (thickness of lines and shapes). Use the BPMN Lucidchart template. 5. Combine both parts into a single document with a cover page and submit in Blackboard. 6. Ten percent of the grade is the professional presentation of your results
