Aadarshini Joshi was working on a summer research job in dark fibre networking at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology when she started up a small firm that specialized in helping small Alberta towns maximize their fibre optic capacity. These towns wish to encourage high tech companies and companies that rely on high tech to locate in their town. Aadar spent the initial years of business activity pursuing clients, pitching investors and refining her service. She attended Sait on a study permit and then got a three-year Post-Graduate Work Permit. When that expired she needed a temporary work permit to remain in the country, which required her to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment. She is now 27 years of age. Asdar wants to stay in Canada both temporarily and permanently. She is considering business class and skilled worker strategies. What challenges would she face in attempting to fit into a business class category; which program is most feasible, what are the steps she must navigate, and how likely is it that she will find success?
