I currently live in a small community in florida that only consist of 11,914 people in the entire county. This specfic community does not have programs that im aware of that offers help parents who have childern with ASD. A program i would love to start twice a week is classes for parents of ASD childern to help them to be more aware of how to help them grow in not only education wise but in everyday life as well. I would hold these classes on tuesdays and thursday afternoon between the hours of 4:30-6:30. I would also work on a schedule for parents who work later to arrange a way for them to be able to participate if they wish to. As an estimate i would start off only needing about 14 volnteers starting out and i would be willing to add more as needed. Starting out the percentage would be 28% of volnteers. Childern and their familes along with volnteers would all benifit from this program. Families would by learning different way to help their child grow in many ways at home. Children would benifit because they are getting extra help at home and learning and growing and volnteers would so many things and earn community service hours as well. My program budget would be $6000 to buy the utilitys i needed to run this program. I beileve about 65% of my community would benifit and i beileve over time that percentage would grow overtime which would be amazing for my community.
