The business that we have chosen to assist is Six Flags amusement park. This is a business that has a busier season during the summer and hires more employees during that time. This could have resulted in why the inventory was difficult to keep track of as there are a lot more people coming in and out and some of the employees only stay for a few months. They may not have been told properly how to report/keep track of the inventory they are using up on a day to day basis. The park can be hectic depending on how large their customer base is that day, growing much larger on weekends, so this adds to the business running out of supplies and not always being prepared. They dont have a set number of customers as some people just walk up that day and buy tickets, so it can be hard to accommodate them and have all the inventory set aside for these people. In order to fit the business environment, a solution is required to be simple enough to teach many new employees, while also being thorough enough to keep track of all the products in the storage locations.
Opportunity: The business opportunity to be addressed
If the company can find a better way to keep track of their inventory flow, they'll have less customer complaints and they would make a higher profit than before because they'll have more products to sell and happier customers who may want to buy a season pass or membership to come back and buy more merchandise and food.
