Question:
I probably wouldn't have an issue with using the same 3PL that is used by my prime competitor. The way that I see it, if we are both using them, and having almost the same returns, then it's not an issue. At the same time, if you have a weaker market share and have a different 3PL to a prime competitor that would make you consider switching to that same 3PL. I would not limit the services for switching to a new 3PL since we will have a business relationship in which they cannot share with the competitor in the services we require.
This is a hard one to answer. It's tough because your company's strategic planning is basically how your company runs. Obviously the aspects that you share out to the public are fine to give, but the more personal topics I would not share. If I didn't share it with other businesses I have a relationship with then I wouldn't give it to them.
Yes I would allow the 3PL to be involved with the management in logistics operations. I wouldn't give them full reign over the logistics. Obviously they would take care of the logistics that were agreed upon in the contract but nothing more.
Do you agree with the paragraph above? If yes then why ?
