CASE STUDY INTRODUCTION TO THE CASE Setting: Lakeshore Pizza Company Stakeholders: 4 restaurant staff; 1 restaurant manager, 1 company CEO; 3 financial investors; 50 local customers SUMMARY OF THE SITUATION A family came for dinner at Lakeshore Pizza Company and informed the restaurant staff of a food allergy. Unfortunately, when the staff placed the order, they did not communicate with the cook about the allergy. Therefore, the family was served a pizza with an ingredient they had asked to avoid, and one of the children became sick. Although the sickness was not life threatening, this family became very upset and filed a complaint with Thomas (the restaurant manager). They have also been speaking with many other local customers about their terrible experience, and posting complaints and negative company reviews online. Several investors have seen the negative reviews online, and are now contacting Thomas to ask about this issue. They are concerned about continuing financial supporti t if these negative customer experiences continue and are not addressed quickly. Thomas is trying to reach the company CEO, Robert, to inform him of this issue and seek advice on how to proceed, however Robert is away on holidays and will not be back in his office until next week.
