Task: 3.3ACTIVE COACHING ROLE PLAY

1. Participate in an interactive role play

It is reported by one of the waitress, Judy, working in the function room that she feels very uncomfortable while serving drinks to drunkard people. She feels that they are rude and might misbehave with her. Also, the Restaurant Manager observed that the staff is not properly trained and need mentoring and coaching while working in the function/ event room. They face problems like lack of confidence in front of the customers, bein rude sometimes and having not enough knowledge how to deal with very drunk customers.

Student must assume themselves as the Restaurant Manager and participate in an interactive role play on mentoring and coaching of staff and making required changes to operational plan. Trainer/ Assessor will act as the waitress, Judy. One of the classmates of the student will act as another staff memeber, John.

PART B

You then need to dicuss the variation to the plan as per Question 3.1C).

You will need to discuss the following:

• The variations
• Affects of the variations, costs etc
• Changes to the operational plan - budget and timeline
• Gain approval for the variations

Scenario

You have now implemented the operational plan and in your next team meeting you have decided to monitor and review the operational performance to see if you can meet the business objectives of meeting 10% growth over the next 12 months or if you need to come up with variations to your operational plan in order to meet the business objectives. You have sent out a survey to customers to get their response about the coffee shop.You have found out from the survey that your customer would prefer to have healthy food served as well at the coffee shop and increase the opening hours. This would mean making adjustments to the budget as you would require more physical resources including human resources.

2. Refer to the scenario above and come up with at least two recommendations for variation to the operational plan. Document your recommendations in the space below.(Guide: Short).
