Question: I want to design a study to test the effect of exercise on eSports. I recruit 50 Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Competitors from the Tuscaloosa

I want to design a study to test the effect of exercise on eSports. I recruit 50 Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Competitors from the Tuscaloosa area. I observe their tournament results over the past 6 months, and they fill out 6-month physical activity recall questionnaires. I also administer exercise logs that they fill out over the next six months and follow their tournament results for the next six months.

What is the study design? Why?

At the 6-month follow up, I plot the variables (Amount of exercise in kcals/minute and results as average placement in tournament) and run a Pearson Product Moment Correlation. I get an r value of -0.9.
