1. There are legitimate reasons for hierarchy to develop, but it also seems to be natural for hierarchies to grow too tall. Describe how at least one aspect of human nature can lead to hierarchies growing too tall?

2. The informal organization might be defined as the personal relationships, professional connections and communities of common interest in an organization. Informal mentoring relationships, the company softball team and factions arising to resist a planned change effort are all examples. It exists outside of formally designated roles, and task and authority relationships (i.e. formal organizational structure). Describe one way the informal organization can affect an organization's performance. Bonus points for up to 2 additional distinct, clearly explained ways the informal organization can affect organizational performance.
