iCase 9: Physical Ergonomics: Determining the relationship between workload, oxygen uptake, and heart rate (Simple linear regression) Determining workload for employees performing manual labor is an important job for ergonomists. Workers exerting too much energy are at risk for injury and accidents. Students in the IE 4461 lab collected data on oxygen uptake (VO2) and heart rate (HR) while participants walked on a treadmill at different speeds. Analysis: Is there a relationship between speed and oxygen uptake, and between speed and heart rate? Determine the relationships using simple linear regression analysis.
