ICS (Industrial Control Systems) and SCADA (Supervisor Controls and Data Acquisition) systems. It's now know what they are, where they are deployed and how they fit into daily life and the critical systems of the Nation. The last thing, that many times is overlooked, but critical to the security and continued operations, is action plans. Looking at the DoD (Department of Defense) and particularly at a older Command SAC (Strategic Air Command), they took action planning to the ultimate. For example, a security patrol in the missile field responding to an alarm at a missile complex, had a checklist to follow of what to do, and when to do it. Although the action plans were set in writing, they were flexible enough if the situation changed.
