Identify a situation in your life/work (broadly defined) previously, currently, or expected in the future where an experiment (there are well-defined outcomes and only one of the outcomes can occur per experiment -- see sec. 2.1) with a sample space of at least two sample points occurred/is occurring/will occur.

Instructions:

• Describe the experiment. Define the sample points in the sample space.
• Assign probabilities to each of the potential outcomes using the appropriate method (sec 2.2). Briefly explain why you chose that method.
• If the experiment were to occur a second time or another related experiment were to occur, calculate the probability of two events (defined as a collection of sample points -- see sec. 2.3) of your choosing. Use the addition law, conditional probability, or the multiplication law appropriately (you only need to pick one) to find the probability of two events occurring.
