Kaggle hosts thousands of data sets that are freely available to the public from sports data to retail sales trends in Istanbul in 2024. If we look at a specific dataset, like in "Uber Data Analytics Dashboard," we can see:

Structured Data: Trip details, vehicle types, ratings and revenue information

Unstructured Data: None, dataset is structured

Quantitative Data: Trip duration (minutes), distance traveled (miles), fare amount (USD)

Categorical Data: Trip status, vehicle type, pickup and dropoff locations

This answers the 5 Ws for us: riders and drivers using Uber platform (who), ride-sharing trips (what), various urban locations within Uber's coverage area (where), specific dates and times of trips (when), to analyze and improve ride-sharing operations (why).

This raises some interesting questions regarding this database:

1. What are the peak hours for Uber rides in urban areas? This helps drivers and riders understand the most expensive times at specific places.

2. How does trip duration relate to fare amount? Do shorter, more frequent trips or longer, less frequent trips net the driver more?

3. What factors cause higher cancellation rates driver-to-driver? Is there a trend in the quantitative and/or categorical data that affects why riders cancel trips? "
